Coldwater Teen Services

Teen Read Week... October 17-23.

Teen Read Week is coming up soon. October 17-23 is National Teen Read Week. This is the first year the Coldwater branch has had the opportunity to put together some fun events for our local teens. Along with some great prizes, there are also going to be an event going on almost every day of the week.

Teen Writing Contest

The Branch District Library is pleased to announce a Teen Writing Contest. The winner of this contest will be in our Teen Reads Poster. This will include a free makeover of hair and makeup. This contest is open for ages 11-18. To enter write a 1-2 page essay typed in 12 point font answering the question, “What do libraries or your library mean to you?” This is a great opportunity for teens who love to write and even those preparing for future scholarship writing. Turn in your completed typed essay to any branch or email to teens@branchdistrictlibrary.org by October 9, 2010.

Introducing...

A new service is coming to our library, as Amanda Yearling heads the Young Adult section at the Coldwater branch.

I plan to create many fun and interesting teen programs that will be more geared towards 13-18 year olds. There is already some things in the works. There is a new Anime/Manga Club that will be meeting monthly starting July 15th. We will meet every third Thursday at Coldwater's third floor meeting room. The summer meetings will be 2-4pm and we will be watching various Anime and talking about our favorite Manga. If you have never read Manga or watched Anime, but would still be interested in learning more about it, please feel free to come and join the fun.

There will be more postings as more fun events are planned. Also if you're on Facebook, we now have a page where teens can get the latest and greatest info on all the up coming events.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions please feel free to email me. Or pop me a message on our Facebook page. We'd love to hear from you!
